Pet Drug Reports counts records from FDA's public files without editorial changes. Most differences between a figure here and a company's or a clinic's own records come from the files themselves: which reports FDA has posted so far, how a report was coded, and what its ingredient field says.
Errors introduced by this site
If a figure does not match the openFDA files it cites (an ingredient recognised or pooled wrongly, a trade name listed under the wrong ingredient in a Green Book reference list, a term's spelling variants split or merged in error, a breed label mistranslated, a broken comparison), write to the address on the contact page with the page URL and the value you expect. Processing errors are fixed in the code and the site is rebuilt. The target is a reply within five working days.
Drug sponsors
Sponsors can use the same channel. Useful details: the page URL, the Green Book entry, and the figure in question. Statistics here are by active ingredient and are not attributed to any brand or company, because FDA masks those fields. Where a trade name, sponsor name or ingredient in a reference list differs from the Green Book, the Green Book is followed at the next build. The site does not remove an ingredient page because a count is unwelcome, and it does not add commentary at a sponsor's request; it does correct anything that misstates the public record.
Disputes about a report itself
The content of an adverse event report (what was reported, how it was coded, whether it should exist) is FDA's record. Questions go to FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine: Contact CVM. Changes FDA makes appear here after the next openFDA release.
Personal information
FDA's public files carry no owner, reporter or clinic identities and none is published here. If anything that identifies a person appears on any page, report the URL and it will be removed immediately.
